Optiphen
A naturally derived preservative
Many “all-natural” brands skip the preservative step — but any lotion that contains water needs one. Without it, each dipping and double-dipping invites cross-contamination that can grow mold, yeast, and bacteria. It's actually more harmful to let those grow than it is to use a preservative. Optiphen is a naturally derived, paraben- and formaldehyde-free blend of phenoxyethanol and caprylyl glycol that keeps our water-based lotion fresh, stable, and safe from the first use to the last.
